Drawing Course with Josephine S. Robinson

About the Course

This is a short drawing session lead by Josephine S. Robinson formulated to help students in their approach to painting the landscape.  The exercise is designed to make students aware of the importance of coherent shapes in their drawings/paintings to help form a strong sense of design. The session will involve completing 4 sketches, and will concentrate on the depiction of light in the landscape, so important to a sense of atmosphere, in your paintings. We will use graphite pencils, a ruler, a kneaded eraser and a sketchbook.

Josephine will be available for further assistance and to answer any questions.

Dean recommends this course ands states it will be useful and advantageous.

“Speaking from my personal as well as my teaching experience, I have found that once one’s drawing skills are under control, frustrations are more easily surmounted when painting. The possibilities for the painting’s design become more apparent and concrete–which takes the painting to a whole new level.”
